In 1971 the Wurster family emigrated from Switzerland and started the Swiss Chalet Bakery in historic Morristown, NJ. Thirty-two years later the bakery remains at its original but expanded location. In the beginning, European pastries and Danish were our specialty but gradually traditional American items were introduced. Today, we're a full service bakery with a daily selection of over 200 fresh baked items and a self-serve beverage center offering delicious fresh ground coffee & a variety of teas.  We've recently begun serving delicious cappucino, expresso and lattes and offer a selection of natural European Jams & Jellies.  Swiss Chalet's reputation for quality, fresh baked products speaks for itself - each year over 80,000 customers visit our store. 

As times change, it's been our unwavering goal to always offer our customers the items and services they want. For instance, at virtually every holiday we offer special sweets and cakes celebrating the occasion. We now have a complete self-service coffee/tea center where our customers can prepare their own beverage just the way they like it. We open at 6:00 AM for the convenience of commuters and early birds. Fancy gourmet desserts have been added for those special occasions or private dinner parties. We can now scan a favorite photograph or image on to a birthday or special occasion cake and cookies.  Gift certificates are always available & make the perfect present for friends, family or business associates.
